THE BASIC RULES
- - Paragraphs should be detailed and not very, very long.
- - Connectives should connect the sentences, so the sentences make sense and are more clear.
- - Topic sentences should summarize the topic in a short, clear paragraph.
- - The structure should be in chronological order so that everything makes sense and isn´t messy and 'all over the place'.
EXERCISES
Task 1: Connectives Connect the sentences using connectives. Use either "although", "and", "while" or "because".
- a) He couldn´t go to the ski trip. He was sick.
- b) He was in town. His mother was out.
- c) She was outside. It was raining.
- d) I like chocolate. I like pizza.
- e) He put a chicken on his mother. His mother was making chicken wings.
- f) She went cart driving. She hurt her ankle.
- g) He bought a pair of shoes. He had money left.
- h) Wali's mother cut her hair. It was too long.
- i) She ate ice cream. She was ice skating.
- j) Her pencil broke in half. She stepped on it.
- k) He didn't go to the park. He wanted to.
- l) He had a fight with his mother. She wouldn't let him go camping.
