Jim Crow was a system that whites in the South designed to keep African Americans down. For example black people couldn't vote.

She was the first black child who went to a public whites only school.

4) Why were the early 1960s a turning point?

There were big demonstrations and these were followed by new laws on civil rights after 1964.

5) Do black and white people have the same opportunities today? Give examples.

Yes, because everyone can go to the same school, everyone can have the same job and there are the same rules for everyone. But it's more likely you get born in a poor family as a black kid.
