Chapter 1

Snakeman


The first chapter of Snakeman is about Cathy and that she is new in her school. It is her first school day on the Portland High and she wants to give her best to make a good impression, because on her schools before she was an outsider but she likes to be in groups and with People. She is again at a new school this is her third school in the past four or five years. This was really hard for her. On her first school day she makes an opinion of the teacher. She likes the most teachers like her Spanish teacher and her Chemistry teacher. But she did not like her math teacher, the reason of this was not the teacher but the subject. After her first hours, a boy Jamie Hanson came to her for the school newspaper because he want to ask her some question about her. She said yes and after the break they meet each other and he asked her some question about her hobbies like riding and reading. After the interview Jamie asks Cathy whether she want to work for the school newspaper. Actually she wants to say yes but she has an excuse to say no. She has not enough time yet. However she want to say yes, he goes.


Chapter 2

The second chapter of Snakeman is about the first encounter between Cathy and the Snakeman. After the School he Comes to her. She stands at her locker. He and two of his friends stand next to her and said nothing. Cathy introduce herself but he already know her because she is a member of his club. However she didn’t signs up for any list but he signs her up. He invites her for his meetings with the whole club right there, every week. Than he want payment from Cathy because she is now a club member and she has to pay dues every week. He wants to have five dollars every week. But Cathy doesn’t like that and she get very angry but the boys don’t care. The boy said that he hates people without respect and catchs her arms. Cathy wants to struggle, so she brings her knee between his legs but he wears a cup. He says often that cooperation is the magic word. After that he talks about her brother Mike and he says to her that he know everything about her. At the end Cathy gives the five dollar to the Snakeman.question but she couldn’t say the whole truth about her first day at school. She talks about the teacher and the kids in her class. Around the time Cathy talked about her school day Mike shoving a large sandwich into his mouth and washed it down wit


Chapter 3


The third chapter of Snakeman deals with Cathy and her family. She is on her way in the bus but she feels not well, her eyes turnes within, on the scene in the school with the Snakeman. Everybody in the bus feel that Cathy isn’t well but nobody talk to her. As she arrives at home, her brother Mike asks her about the first day in school. Cathy is ready for the h a liter of milk. As he finishs, he moves for the door and got his bike. He drives to play some basketball. She has happy that Mike goes because she wants to be alone with her thoughts. She is not sure if she tells this her mother. Normally she tells her everything but not today. After her mother came at home she tells her everything about her problems on her work. Than she goes to her room and she makes some thought about how she could deal with her enemy. But first, she wants a chance to know her school better.


Chapter 4


Chapter four of Snakeman is about Cathy who meets with the Snakeman and Jamie. The Snakeman is Cathy’s private name for him. She has decids a strategy of non-restiance. She thinks this is the best and first it worked well. But after while Cathy begins to notice change. The Snakeman looks at her really awkward like he wanted to say or do something with her. She think that she makes his work too easy. Suddenly he says that she has a nice necklace. Cathy lias as she says the necklace isn’t real. But the Snakeman want to have the necklace because he has a good friend and he can tell them whether it’s real or not. After a little debate, Cathy gives him the necklace. After she does that, she realized that she gives him her valuable necklace.

After she is at home the telephone rang, it is Jamie from the school newspaper. He asks her again whether she would work at the school news paper. Cathy knos from the beginning that she would say yes but at first she says no because she want to talk with Jamie. After she says yes, Jamie is delighted. Now she would a hard look around and search for people, pupils or teachers she could trust because she must be careful about which people she talks to.


Chapter 5


In chapter five talks Cathy with he Principal and wants to see whether the principal is a good person to talk. As she goes in the room from the pricipal he is nice as always. He leaves the school next year and he works 20 years there. He makes the impression as he has a feeling of pride in a job well done as a pricipal. He is like a friend for the students. His door is always open and you can talk with him about everything like questions or problems. But something of him makes Cathy unsure. Is it because he is always seemed to be such a big hurry? She doesn‘t know. There is something weird on him too. He says that communication is very important but he doesn‘t have enough time for communication. But is it diffrent if you have a appointment with him. The appointment has fifteen minutes but it was only small talk. He sees very friendly but something about him that warned Cathy to say nothing to him about the snakeman. He is very nervous but what is makes him so nervous? After this impression Cathy is sure that she doesn‘t want to talk with him.


Chapter 6


In this Chapter wants Cathy makes sure that Hal is one of the guys she can trust. Cathy makes a list with three categories of pupils and teacher: those she fells she could trust, those she couldn‘t trust and those she isn‘t sure about. High on the list of those she thinks she could trust is Mr. Black or quickly Hal. She decids to start with him so she makes a appointment with him and she tells him that her necklace is stolen The impression of him isn‘t like in the cafeteria , where he often sits with pupils. He sees easy-going and very friendly. That she knows that he is the right for her he musts gives her a feeling that she is not wasting time with him. But his face is only worried looks with such a little think. She doesn‘t have the feeling that he is one of those who can help her with her big problem. After she goes out of the office she cross Mr. Black from the list.
